Leeks macaronis
Ingredients
- 500 ml (2 cups) of macaronis pastas
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of butter
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of olive oil
- 1 package of 250 g (4 cups) of Les Cultures de chez nous sliced leeks
- 1 chopped garlic cloves
- 45 ml (3 tablespoons) of flour
- 1 whisked egg
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) of milk
- 225 (1/2 pound) of grated medium Cheddar cheese
- 225 g (1/2 pound) of grated Mozzarella cheese
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) of grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper up to taste
- 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of turmeric
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) of Italian or regular breadcrumbs
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Cook the macaronis according to the package instructions. Set aside 125 ml (1/2 cup) of cooking water.
- In a large casserole, melt butter in oil. Add minced leeks and garlic and brown for 1 minute. Add flour and mix well, cook 30 seconds. Add cooking water and mix well.
- In a bowl, mix whisked egg with milk, add cheeses, season with salt, pepper and turmeric, mix well add to the leeks mixture.
- Add macaroni and mix well. Pour into 4 well-buttered cocottes and spread with breadcrumbs. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
