  • 4 kaiser breads, not sliced
  • 1 minced leek
  • 6 eggs
  • 8 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
  • 160 ml (2/3 cup) of grated cheddar
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of chopped fresh chive (optional)
Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Remove the superior part of the bread from a cavity. Remove the crumb, then dice.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the leek for 4 to 5 minutes while stirring.
  • In a bowl, whip eggs. Add leek, bacon, cheddar, diced crumb, and, if desired, chive. Salt and pepper.
  • Lay the bread on a cooking sheet covered with parchment paper. Divide the egg mixture into the bread cavity. Bake in the oven for 28 to 30 minutes, until the eggs take form.
