Ingredients
  • 300 g (2/3 pound) of chicken, diced
  • 2 leeks sliced into rings of 1 cm (1/2 inch)

For the marinade:

  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of sugar
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of soy sauce
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of sesame oil

For the sauce:

  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of soy sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of sugar
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of garlic, chopped
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of sesame seeds
  • 20 ml (4 teaspoons) of sesame oil
  • Pepper, up to taste

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Combine marinade ingredients and marinate chicken in marinade for 15 minutes.

  • Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl.

  • Skewer chicken, alternating with leek slices. Dip skewers in sauce and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, basting with sauce occasionally or until chicken loses its pinkish colour.
