Sometimes, we want to indulge in our guilty pleasures, but not too much. Vegan desserts are perfect for this: they're often more nutritious than their alter egos and just as delicious and usually straightforward to make.
Plus, what better way to get your family to eat tofu than to hide it in a dessert? A meatless burger, and the kids immediately ask: where’s my hamburger? But if you give them a dessert, they’ll never ask!
Ahhhhh, zucchini. What a delight!
Did you know that it’s even better grated into a dessert? Yes, zucchini can be ground very finely and wrung out to create an almost tasteless fibre that’s a good substitute for butter in almost any cake.
The result is a creamy texture and a delectable chocolate cake with much lower calories.

Black bean brownies are all the rage right now. We’d have suggested a recipe, but we’ve come up with an even better option that everyone’s raving about.
Because yes, the recipes recommended here really have been tested and approved by our team! And the tofu brownies from Trois fois par jour are to die for.
What’s more, the recipe is ultra-healthy.
Jean-Philippe is like the god of vegans. As well as being hilarious (in French), his recipes are always a big hit with omnivores everywhere.
Omnivores is the word used to describe non-vegans, those who eat everything. If you’re still having trouble with all these terms (it’s not easy, we’re very aware), Serge has already provided detailed explanations here 👈.
Unbeatable cookies. Tender, easy and delicious ❤️.
In this chocolate mousse, eggs are replaced by... avocado!
Don’t run off; we swear it’s worth a try. The shared link includes 3 ways to make eggless chocolate mousse, but the avocado one takes the cake for our stomachs.
Admittedly, this one falls into the very healthy category—it’s hardly a dessert. The good thing is, no one will notice!
For the topping, we recommend adding hazelnut butter for a little bit of the taste of Nutella without the refined sugar 😍.
In addition to being delicious, this cake is lovely. So get out your smartphone and snap some photos for your Instagram page! The likes will pour in (and maybe the surprise guests, too)!
Sometimes, we make vegan recipes without even realizing it. If you’ve already tried our blueberry pie recipe, you’ve made a vegan dessert!
Yes, most pie crusts sold in grocery stores are made with vegetable oil and are, therefore, vegan by default (but it’s best to read the ingredients to be sure).
If there’s one thing that scares people about veganism, it’s giving up cheese. But who’s afraid of vegan cheese? Well, there are so many delicious cheesecake recipes out there that we couldn’t decide between two:
Impress your mother (or grandmother) with a vegan alternative to her classic family dinner dessert 😋.
Well, yes, vegans have friends, too 😜. Save this recipe to your favourites and pull it out again to spoil them on their birthday! They’ll be very grateful, that’s for sure.
Even if ice cream made with almond, coconut, soy or oat milk is sold ready-made at the grocery store, there’s nothing more satisfying than the pride of being able to say, “I made it myself.”
This version, made with fruit, is exquisite and very healthy.
Do you know what gelatin is? If you don’t, you probably don’t want to! The good news is that it’s super-easy to replace with agar-agar, which is a seaweed with the same gelling properties.
Using it to make homemade jello is super simple:
1. Mix the following ingredients:
2. Bring to the boil and boil for 2 minutes.
3. Pour into small bowls and leave to set in the fridge.
This light, nutritious version of sugar pie will fill your home with an incredible aroma, so much so your neighbours may knock on your door to ask what you’re baking.
Incredible, but true 😜. Moreover, this recipe contains no fats since it uses aquafaba, which is just a fancy name for chickpea water (yes, the one from the cane you throw down the sink).
1. Whip the chickpea liquid with a hand mixer for about 4 minutes or until soft peaks form.
2. Add cream of Tartar, sugar and extracts to mixture. Beat until stiff peaks form.
3. Gently fold in the flour until the mixture is smooth.
4. Pour the mixture into an ungreased baking tin.
5. Bake at 350 °F (177 °C) for 20-25 minutes.
6. Garnish with fruit or vegan whipped cream (we have a recipe for that, too 😉 ).
Desserts are great with whipped cream, but would you believe us if we told you that whipped cream without cream is possible? This rich, not-whipped-cream keeps well in the fridge.
1. Add the cream of Tartar to the aquafaba and blend on medium speed with a hand mixer until frothy.
2. Increase speed to maximum and beat for another 3-4 minutes until stiff peaks form.
3. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and beat for another minute until the desired consistency is reached.
